{"id":301,"date":"2014-11-01T23:48:48","date_gmt":"2014-11-01T18:18:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cynthiasiegel.net\/?p=301"},"modified":"2015-06-03T04:17:40","modified_gmt":"2015-06-02T22:47:40","slug":"kali-ma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/cynthiasiegel.net\/?p=301","title":{"rendered":"Kali Ma"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I prefer Kali to Durga. \u00a0Why? \u00a0Since I&#8217;m not exactly sure, I thought I&#8217;d use the writing of this post to help figure it out.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-801 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/cynthiasiegel.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC_06771-1024x680.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0677\" width=\"474\" height=\"315\" srcset=\"http:\/\/cynthiasiegel.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC_06771-1024x680.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/cynthiasiegel.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/03\/DSC_06771-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In Kolkata, Kali certainly has less fanfare than the almighty Durga, but from my vantage point, Kali&#8217;s devotees appear to have as much or maybe even more fervor for their goddess. \u00a0While Durga is considered to be the goddess of supreme power, Kali is thought of as the goddess of <em>empowerment<\/em>. \u00a0That strikes a chord in\u00a0me &#8211;
